Hyundai’s new Genesis subsidiary, a luxury brand selling vehicles that was first introduced as a standalone brand late last year, has released its first-ever vehicles for the 2017 model year and received wide positive reviews from the biggest names in journalism and the auto industry.
Bloomberg’s review said that the Genesis G90 is “of the caliber of rival cars from BMW, Mercedes, and Audi” and compares it directly to the much pricier Mercedes S Class. The G90, the reviewer said, is “$10,000 less expensive and just as nicely done in the rear cabin, where it counts.”
The 2017 G90 comes with either a V6 engine or a more powerful V8 for only $1600 more, as well as available all-wheel drive. The G90 has four drive modes, including Sport mode, and an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual paddle shifters. The G90 comes standard with HID lights, daytime running lights, and even ambient-lit mirrors.
Reviewers noted the incredibly noise cancellation in the G90, and it has plenty of standard technology, including the 12.3-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, and heated front and rear seats. With simple yet elegant styling and great city fuel economy, the Genesis G90 is the perfect car for city drivers.
Competing in quality with brands priced higher, the Genesis luxury brand and especially the flagship G90 are sure to challenge the premium car market.
Volkswagen has held a good portion of the hatchback market for years, but now Hyundai is stepping up to the plate. The Korean automaker recently revealed the new Hyundai i30 hatchback ahead of the 2016 Paris Auto Show. Closely related to the Elantra sedan, the new Hyundai i30 could come to the United States as well as Europe.
The new Hyundai i30 will features several gasoline and diesel engines for European customers. All engines are four cylinders and Hyundai plans to add a turbocharged three-cylinder engine to the lineup.
Like most Hyundai models, the i30 will feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as well as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and more.
The Hyundai i30 is the direct successor to what’s known as the Elantra GT in the United States. We’re still waiting to see if the new i30 will make its way to our shores. While nothing is confirmed just yet, the hatchback could provide stiff competition in America.
Perhaps most interesting of all is that Hyundai has confirmed the new i30 will serve as a base for the new N performance division.

Current Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Preparing for the seventh consecutive SEMA show this year, Hyundai decided to partner with ARK Performance, a car-tuning company known worldwide for its impressive designs. So far, the ARK Performance Genesis is making quite a stir in the car enthusiast community thanks to its powerful engine and seek exterior.
According to Hyundai, the ARK Genesis has a wider look to give it a more athletic stance, a redesigned dash, racing gauges and steering, and tons of carbon fiber. Under the hood, this model has a 4.0-liter Stroker Kit, which builds on the standard 3.8-liter V6 engine.
“The Genesis Coupe is the perfect platform for developing our performance product lineup,” said Kevin Bentley, Marketing and Sales Manager, ARK Performance, Inc. “Hyundai’s 3.8-liter engine is strong enough to handle all the extra power we’re now developing, and the chassis is well balanced and easy to modify, allowing us to create this lowered, aggressive stance while maintaining that clean look we’re going for.”
This model also has new pistons, rods, and a crankshaft, as well as custom wheels, suspension, and more. Basically, the whole exterior has been re-contoured, and the interior has some serious upgrades, including a premium speaker system, AiM Sports digital display, a custom threaded shifter, and more.
