For a relatively new car manufacturer that started as a humble Korean presence on the American market, Hyundai has come a long way. As its lineup continues to expand and its vehicles continue to improve its fans grows with them. The proof is in the remarkable Hyundai sales growth that’s occurred over the last several years, showing that consumer confidence and satisfaction is higher than ever.

Last year marked the seventh consecutive year of Hyundai record sales in the U.S. Leading the way in the growing sales was the Hyundai Tucson, the company’s compact SUV. The 2016 Tucson won awards like MotorWeek’s Drivers’ Choice Award for Best Small Utility, plus the Best Compact SUV for the Money by U.S. News & World Report. The Hyundai Tucson’s sales were up 41% in 2016. Following closely behind the Tucson was the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Sport.

The company’s luxury division, Genesis, has also shown immense sales growth. The Genesis brand is just a couple of years old, but its G90 sedan proudly competed as a finalist for the North American Car of the Year award. Genesis grew 33% in 2016, which is a development Hyundai hopes is only the beginning of a long, successful run as a luxury vehicle manufacturer.

Hyundai Offers Some of the Best In-Car Tech

According to a study done by J.D. Power, Hyundai offers some of the best in-car tech in the mass market. This was the first study of its kind and asked new car owners to rate their car’s technology within the first 90 days of ownership.

Car owners rated their cars based on its entertainment features, overall connectivity, navigation, collision avoidance, driving assistance features, and comfort and convenience technology. With the results of the study, J.D. Power found that drivers were most satisfied with their collision avoidance technology. In addition, it was the most-used in-car tech. These features were also something that buyers were willing to pay more for to get.

J.D. Power used surveys from 13,269 consumers who purchased a leased a 2016 model. Both the Hyundai Genesis and Tucson achieved the highest rankings in their respective segments.

“Advanced safety and convenience technologies are top of mind for many drivers, and we are thrilled that our models are exceeding expectations in these crowded segments,” said Mircea Gradu, director, engineering & quality for Hyundai Motor America.

Hyundai Tucson Scores 2016 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Award

At the Chicago Auto Show back in February, the Hyundai Tucson took home the coveted 2016 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Award in “Best Small Utility” for its best overall value, practicality, performance, and fuel efficiency.

The Tucson scored the sought-after accolade thanks to its full redesign, which offers drivers a crossover that’s more equipped for the challenges of the road and more cost-effective than competitors in its class.

Ruedas ESPN presented the all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson with the “Best Compact Crossover” award during the 45th annual Miami International Auto Show, marking the fifth consecutive time a Hyundai has been honored by the Spanish-language automotive radio show in the United States.

Ruedas ESPN can be heard on more than 48 radio stations in the country as well as on SIRIUS and XM channel 157. From 11am to 1pm on every Sunday, hosts Sergio Rodriguez, Niky Pauli, and Jaime Florez have a conversation about cars, motorsport, and engineering with thousands of Hispanic listeners.

The all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson was chosen at the winner of the “Best Compact Crossover” award by an expert panel of jurors based on multiple key attributes, including comfort and design.

“The all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson has everything a young family needs and more,” said Jaime Florez, one of the aforementioned hosts. “The Tucson is a class-leading compact crossover with its appealing combination of bold design, comfort, functionality and advanced safety technologies.”
