For a relatively new car manufacturer that started as a humble Korean presence on the American market, Hyundai has come a long way. As its lineup continues to expand and its vehicles continue to improve its fans grows with them. The proof is in the remarkable Hyundai sales growth that’s occurred over the last several years, showing that consumer confidence and satisfaction is higher than ever.
Last year marked the seventh consecutive year of Hyundai record sales in the U.S. Leading the way in the growing sales was the Hyundai Tucson, the company’s compact SUV. The 2016 Tucson won awards like MotorWeek’s Drivers’ Choice Award for Best Small Utility, plus the Best Compact SUV for the Money by U.S. News & World Report. The Hyundai Tucson’s sales were up 41% in 2016. Following closely behind the Tucson was the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Sport.
The company’s luxury division, Genesis, has also shown immense sales growth. The Genesis brand is just a couple of years old, but its G90 sedan proudly competed as a finalist for the North American Car of the Year award. Genesis grew 33% in 2016, which is a development Hyundai hopes is only the beginning of a long, successful run as a luxury vehicle manufacturer.
